Will this part fit my car?
The honest answer: match the part number. That's the most reliable check there is. PullHound doesn't have an interchange database, so we won't guess which cars share parts.
1. Before you go
- Write down your year, make, model, engine size and trim (registration, plus the sticker under the hood).
- Photograph your old part: labels, part numbers, plugs and mounting points.
- Look your part up on a big parts store's website. The "fits these vehicles" list there is a lead, not proof.
2. At the yard
- Find the same number on the donor part. Same number means same part.
- No readable number? Compare mounting points, connector shape and pin count, and size side by side with your photos.
- Watch for options that change a part inside one model: heated or power-fold mirrors, LED vs. halogen lights, 2WD vs. 4WD, manual vs. automatic, engine size.
- Stay in the same generation. Parts often change when a model is redesigned.
- Ask the counter. Many yards and recyclers use a commercial interchange guide (Hollander is a common one) and can look it up for you.
3. Protect yourself
- Ask about the return or exchange policy before you pay, and keep the receipt.
- Buying online? Read the listing's fitment notes and compare the photos with your part.
